The flat roof over the front porch, supported by the wrought iron in the previous image, was often covered in leaves from the two mature oak trees in the front yard. Though the flat roof is a relatively small section of the roof, it has a large tributary area above it. The leaves held moisture in the valley above and on the flat roof. Eventually, this moisture found its way into the house.
