This image shows the completed screened porch off the master suite before the landscaping is installed. The brick base of the porch helps it appear to be original construction. The ornamental metal grate installed in the face of the new brick base is original to the home. It was removed from the back of the house during demolition and protected until it could be reinstalled. The porch has a drainage system under it that protects the home by drawing water away from the original foundation. Any water is shed to the planting beds outside the porch. This makes it possible to wash and scrub the floor of the porch without concern.
